Rashad Herndon better known to the community as Coach Pooh is a Raleigh native and graduate of Western Carolina University with a Sports Management degree. He is a dedicated youth development professional specializing in basketball and mentoring. With over 15 years of experience as the Athletic Director for the Raleigh Boys Club, he is committed to fostering young people's personal growth, health, fitness, and character development. Rashad’s passion lies in helping individuals navigate the athletic field, supporting student-athletes in college preparation, and shaping positive members of society.

As a coach, he has led travel basketball teams for NC Redstorm and Team Curry, with notable achievements including winning the UAA 16 Boys National Title. Results drive Rashad’s motivation, and his mission is to improve the lives of those around him through healthy lifestyle practices and mentorship.
